Global Warming Predicted to Set New Temperature Records, Says Climatology Expert

According to the head of the laboratory of climatology at the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Semenov, the reason for the heat was global warming – new temperature records are ahead.

Temperature records on the planet, including in Turkey, where the air is heated to almost +50 degrees, is a logical consequence of global warming. And in the coming years there will be more such maxima. This was reported on August 16 “News”, referring to the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, head of the laboratory of climatology of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Semenov.

– We live in an era when over the past 100 years the temperature on the planet has been rising and will continue to rise. There are similar phenomena in Turkey, so in the coming years we will constantly record new temperature records, the expert quotes the publication.

According to him, such weather has negative consequences for the ecosystem. It cannot but affect the health of people.

As previously reported, the air temperature in Turkey for the first time in the history of the country rose to 49.5 degrees.

In the meantime, Krasnodar can also set a hot record of the day. The maximum air temperature in the Kuban capital on August 16 was recorded in 2014 – then the air warmed up to +37 degrees. Today, the thermometers are going to come close to this mark and even cross it.

Recall that July 2023, following June, became the hottest month on the planet in the history of meteorological observations.
