Bremen: Collision of ship with rowboat – body found on the banks of the Weser

About two days after the collision of a barge with a rowing boat, in which a rower has been missing since then, a body was discovered on the banks of the Weser on Monday evening. Passersby discovered the lifeless body in Bremen-Neustadt, a spokeswoman for the police said.

Investigators were now trying to identify the body. It remains to be clarified whether it is the missing 64-year-old.

The ship and boat collided on Saturday. Four people aged 49 to 64 were sitting in the rowboat. Three of them were able to save themselves on the bank under their own steam. There they were looked after by rescue workers and emergency pastors. The fourth oarsman disappeared. Divers, four boats from the fire brigade and DLRG and a helicopter could not find him.
