A look at the program: Find out what will be talked about at the XV SNMPE Symposium

From May 21 to 23 of this year, important representatives of the national and international mining industry will gather again in Lima for the SYMPOSIUM – XV International Mining Meeting, organized by the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE), event which will analyze the challenges of the mining industry in the current situation and its contribution to the economic growth of Peru.

According to Gonzalo Quijandría, president of the Organizing Committee of the XV SYMPOSIUM, the event program includes national and foreign speakers, representatives of companies, unions, the public sector, multilateral organizations, among others.

The first day of the meeting will begin by analyzing global economic and geopolitical evolution with the conference on macroeconomic and geopolitical perspectives and their impact on Latin America. Then, in the block of metals of the future and the role of countries for the region, two round tables will be held to discuss the opportunity of mining in the development of Latin America and the regions of Peru, respectively. In the afternoon, trends in the global precious metals market will be presented and discussed.

On Wednesday, May 22, the day begins with the block that will address the topic: “How responsible mineral production can generate trust and other positive impacts,” followed by a conference and discussion on the development of projects and investment opportunities in Peru. In the afternoon, the day resumes analyzing the perspective of minerals in the Latin American context and addressing the common challenges shared by the mining countries of the region, followed by two blocks, the first on territorial development, and the second regarding the problem of illegal mining from a Latin American perspective.

Thursday the 23rd, the last day of the event, begins with a group of national and international experts who will analyze the future of the world economy. Immediately afterwards, with a conference and a discussion, the importance of copper in the global economy will be addressed. In the afternoon, the program resumes with a conference and round table on the mining-energy transition for the well-being of humanity, and the day ends with the block “Forging Talents for the Future”, where the demand for professionals required by the mining industry.

“Throughout the 30 years of history of the SYMPOSIUM, we have had the presence of important international authorities and representatives, with whom we have reached consensus in each edition of this event in order to continue promoting the development and growth of mining. in the region,” said Quijandría and recalled that registrations for this event can still be made from the SYMPOSIUM website.
