In a statement, the Butantan Institute reported that the precautionary measure “should not cause scaremongering,” and stressed that it was the Institute itself that reported the matter to Anvisa, “in a commitment to transparency and extreme caution.”
The Brazilian Agency affirmed that the determination to suspend the use of these batches in the country is not punitive, but rather they are sanitary measures to avoid exposure to the consumption and use of irregular or suspicious products.
I spoke with the president of Anvisa, Antonio Barra Torres, about the ban on the use of doses of CoronaVac. According to him, the vaccine is safe and there is no reason to panic. Decision was “cautionary” by the agency. https://t.co/YRydktuyrS
