Boys arrested for throwing Molotov cocktails in Rotterdam | Inland

During last week’s disturbances in Rotterdam South, several fires were started, probably also involving Molotov cocktails. Investigation led to the two suspects.

This week, Rotterdam was confronted with similar disturbances as those affecting other places in the country. On Tuesday evening, about ninety young people disrupted the peace in the Feijenoord district. Items were destroyed and fires set, and the police responded aggressively. Several young people aged thirteen to 22 were arrested.

A large group of stakeholders has been identified. The local police officer has had conversations with these young people and their parents. They also received a letter in the name of the mayor, urging them to stop participating in these disturbances. In recent days it seems that calm has returned. Still, the police take into account that it will not stop here. Noises in the street and social media are monitored and the police say they will act when the situation calls for it.
