Brigitte Macron on the front page of “Paris Match”, retouched or contortionist?

MEDIA – This is coverage that has not gone unnoticed. Since the release on newsstands, this Wednesday, August 19, of the new issue of Paris Match on the holidays of the presidential couple at Fort Brégançon, the reactions flourish. In question, the installation of Brigitte Macron.

The latter is sitting on the corner of a table next to her partner, standing. His pelvis faces the goal. Her legs seem to go in a completely different direction, leaving more than one person thinking. On Twitter, some wonder if the photo would not have been retouched.

If this is not the case, others point to a posture that is difficult to achieve, unless you are a contortionist.

Tilting her body like this is not without risk, worries the young woman below.

Satirical comparisons are piling up.

“No Photoshop”

Contacted by The HuffPost, the Bestimage agency, to which we owe the cliché, sweeps away the critics. “No, the photo is not photoshopped”, assures us its editor-in-chief Yvan Bousseau. He specifies that another photo “in the same style could have been chosen by the editorial staff of Paris Match, but she preferred this one. It’s his choice. ”

According to Florian Silnicki, president of the LaFrenchCom agency and former UMP interviewed on the set of BFMTV, the photo is in any case “completely missed”. “Brigitte and Emmanuel are both dressed in white, white on white is a mistake for the effectiveness of the photo, he breathes. Brigitte Macron’s pose is, moreover, ‘against nature’ and ‘breaks the natural side’. ”

Not a first

This is not the first time that a photo of Brigitte Macron, taken by a photographer from Bestimage, has been talked about. In June 2018, the absence of one of his two feet on a cliché had attracted the same suspicions. “It’s an optical effect”, then replied Yvan Bousseau.

These two examples come while in September 2018, the magazine “Complément d’Enquête” devoted an issue to the suspicion of retouching photos of Brigitte Macron taken by Bestimage during the meeting with the Trump couple.

If the director of the agency, Mimi Marchand had sworn that they had not been dusted off, France 2 explained that Brigitte Macron looked “like she was ten years younger than on [le cliché] from another photographer ”.
