In Student City, discos explain that they make round-the-clock repairs

As of today, Bulgaria has introduced stricter measures against COVID-19 and another wave due to the delta option. According to them, nightclubs are closing, and an evening hour is being introduced for restaurants. A number of new restrictions are in force, already known to the people in our country since last year. Part of the business, however, said it would boycott the new restrictions. This led to protests by restaurateurs in several cities in the country.

The team of “24 hours” checked whether the new measures are observed in the restaurants and bars in Sofia. Shortly after 11 pm we found out that some of the restaurants and bars on Vitosha Blvd. and GS Rakovski are working despite the new measures.

The chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants, Richard Alibegov, was also spotted in his own restaurant, announcing that he would not close. The restaurants around his are also open.

The establishments, which closed at 11 pm and before, explained that they had such working hours, while others packed the customers’ food in an envelope and sent them away. In Student City, discos explained the entry and exit of people by the fact that they make round-the-clock repairs.
