Bombrief discovered in post sorting center Amsterdam, no trace of offender | NOW

Friday a bomb letter was found in a mail sorting center on the Amsterdamhavenweg in Amsterdam, reports the law enforcement. The detective thinks the explosive was possibly intended for a car company in the city to which a threatening letter was previously sent. The police say they have no trace of the offender yet.

The letter was discovered at 1.07 p.m., after which the police called the Explosives Clearance Service Defense (EOD) as a precaution. This service has rendered the content harmless at 2.45 p.m.

Since last week, several bomb letters have been sent to companies in Amsterdam, Maastricht, Utrecht and Rotterdam. All these companies have also received threatening letters.

The sticker for the bomb letter found on Friday had fallen off, the police reported to NU.nl. Previous bomb letters mentioned the Central Collection Agency (CIB) as the sender. The collection agency has nothing to do with the case and also received a bomb letter that was accidentally returned by the intended target.
