Anyone who was recently at De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam and has complaints is urgently advised to get tested. It is not clear to what extent contact investigation can take place. De Bijenkort is a busy, luxury haberdashery shop in the heart of Amsterdam.
According to the safety region, several employees of De Bijenkorf in various departments and floors have been tested positive for the corona virus.
Measures
The closure will be for fourteen days, but can be lifted earlier if the department store takes the necessary measures to prevent further spread of the virus. For example by having staff tested or deploying staff from other locations.
The GGD advises employees who worked in De Bijenkorf in the period from 4 to 18 August to go into quarantine for fourteen days.
Amsterdam problem child
The GGD and the Amsterdam Amstelland Safety Region are very concerned about the virus flaring up in the city. Mayor Femke Halsema will announce further measures on Tuesday evening to combat the number of infections.
