Sports and football prosecutor Kostas Spyropoulos, as revealed by the television “Trial”, is investigating a criminal organization that laundered at least one billion euros through illegal betting.
This is the case of the “laundry” of betting, for which the president of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority, honorary deputy prosecutor of the Supreme Court Charalambos Vourliotis, drew up a conclusion, on the occasion of the murder of businessman Yiannis Makris in Voula, in 2018.
The prosecutor has in his hands the 200-page finding of the Money Laundering Authority, with at least 60 people involved, including former international footballers, actors and businessmen, and is investigating their degree of participation and role in one of the biggest criminal organizations.
Also, the sports prosecutor, who is studying criminal prosecutions for the Greek involvement in the international illegal betting ring, requested the declassification of the telephone communications of new persons, which emerged from the investigation of at least 30 people involved in the case.
