Barriers on the Swedish border removed | ABC News

The Holtet and Tyslingmoen border crossings were physically closed on 22 January. After 252 days, the barriers were removed.

– I know that it means a lot to our friends on the Swedish side as well. We live in the same neighborhood. We want to return to where you do not notice the borders, says communications consultant in Halden municipality Henrik Diskerud Meyer to VG.

Until Wednesday, the crossing is formally closed, so it is a criminal offense to cross the border for a few more days.

Halden has a total of four border crossings, but only two have been physically blocked. Kornsjø has been closed, but not physically, while the crossing at Svinesund has been open with strict corona control.

The border stations Holtet, Tyslingmoen and Kornsjø will not have their own test stations. Travelers with a test obligation must get to Svinesund or another public test station as quickly as possible and no later than 24 hours after arrival.
