The wildly popular ‘The Masked Singer’ was her ‘entrance exam’. And she has clearly done that successfully, because this spring Julie Van den Steen will host ‘Game of Talents’, a new game show described by VTM as a mix of ‘the best of Belgium’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer’ . In it, a known and an unknown Fleming each time compete against a known and an unknown Dutch person. The duo that can best guess which hidden and often surprising talents the candidates will show on stage earn a cash prize. Deception abounds in this program, with both a bodybuilder who excels at training dogs and someone who comes in a tight suit breakdancing. For Julie, it’s her baptism of fire as host of a show.

Corona by the sea
In total, VTM will be launching twelve new programs this spring, including ‘Home made’ with Dina Tersago, the brand new telenovelle ‘Lisa’, the childhood of BVs in ‘Later when I grow up’, ‘Camping Coppens’, a new quiz with Mathias Coppens and ‘Da’s love!’, Which is already being broadcast. Luk Alloo is working on a follow-up to ‘Alloo bij de Wegpolitie’, reporter Eric Goens promises impressive images of Brussels police interventions in ‘Flikken BXL’ and there is ‘De Kust’, with a report of a corona summer by the sea. And then there is Axel Daeseleire, completely healed of corona, who goes in search of unclaimed legacies in the new ‘The Heir’.

In 2021, VTM will also focus on programs that have already earned their stripes. For example, we are looking forward to a new season of ‘Blindmarried’, in which a couple of over-50s causes emotion from the very first meeting. There is also a new season of ‘The Voice van Vlaanderen’, ‘Lego Masters’ and the daily ‘Familie’.

Right between the sheets
VTM 2, the little brother of VTM, goes all out for reality. With a remarkable amount of dating. In ‘Out of the clothes’ bachelors literally reveal themselves – no, they don’t take off their underwear! – and they get to know each other in bed. With the ultimate question: does love start where it usually ends? The channel also launches ‘Stay sleeping’, a new daily dating program. In it, bachelors live together in the same house for at least 24 hours to get to know each other better. They can extend their date to four days.

There is even more addictive reality with ‘The dirtiest jobs in Flanders’, where the title says it all, ‘Costa Belgica’, about successful Flemish estate agents in Spain, and a new season of ‘Ladytruckers’. Finally, there is also a good portion of sports, with the Champions League in football and The Masters in darts, including Dimitri ‘Dancing Dimi’ Van den Bergh.
