The undisputed number 1 in Switzerland since 2009: The many different models in the Caddy, Crafter and T6.1 series seem to continue to meet the high expectations of Swiss customers.

In 2020, a total of 12,374 vehicles were sold by VW Commercial Vehicles in Switzerland. The brand was able to increase its sales figures compared to the previous year despite the corona pandemic (12’718 vehicles sold).

VWN achieved a new sales record in 2020 with 5844 registered vehicles in the light commercial vehicle category. This corresponds to a market share of 20.8 percent (+3.9 percent). There are also 4045 vehicles with M1 passenger car registration, 2294 campers and 191 other VW commercial vehicles outside of the three categories. According to the announcement, the reasons for this exceptional sales performance by VW Commercial Vehicles lie “in the attractive models that seem to meet the high expectations of Swiss customers”. The Crafter and Caddy series impressed with high sales figures. But over 60 percent of all sales were models from the T series, i.e. Transporter, Caravelle, Multivan and California, of which a total of 7,876 vehicles were registered.

For the first time, VW Nutzfahrzeuge is also number 1 in Switzerland for camping models.

When asked about the success, says the head of the VW Commercial Vehicles brand, Rico Christoffel: “2020 was a demanding year. The products certainly laid the foundation, but the brand owes its success to the great performance of our sales and service employees at the front, who, despite Corona, were always there for the customer with a lot of specialist knowledge and commitment. That made the difference. “

Those in charge are confident for 2021. With the launch of the new Caddy, the chances for 2021 are good to increase the brand’s sales figures again.
