Autopsy reveals that the Puerto Rican woman killed by her husband in Orlando was strangled

Orlando, Florida – The autopsy of Marielis Soto, the Puerto Rican woman murdered by her husband, a customs agent – also Puerto Rican – in Orlando, revealed that she was strangled.

Ezequiel “Zeke” Almodóvar killed his spouse and his children, who died shot, on February 21. After committing the crime, the officer took his own life.

According to the report released today, Friday, by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the 39-year-old man – who was a prominent customs agent at Orlando International Airport – died as a result of a self-inflicted shot.

The children were identified by the Police as Ezequiel Almodóvar, 16, and Gabriel Almodóvar, 12. The wife was 38 years old.

This crime of domestic violence shook the Puerto Rican community in the Central Florida area.

The bodies of the Puerto Rican family were discovered when the co-workers of the aggressor at the Orlando International Airport stopped seeing him for several days. Neighbors also didn’t know his wife’s whereabouts.

Faced with the situation, county police arrived on Thursday, February 20, to the house of the Almodóvar-Soto family in Orlando. As no one answered, the officers forced the entrance and found the scene. It is not known if the tragedy occurred that same Thursday or previously.

The Orange sheriff preliminary determined that it was a homicide-suicide case. He explained that no call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System was ever reported.
