Austrian Start-Up Prize “PHÖNIX” Invites Innovative Projects and Female Entrepreneurs to Apply Before April 30, 2023

Vienna (OTS) – The Austrian start-up prize PHÖNIX has been recognizing innovative start-ups, spin-offs, prototypes and female entrepreneurs for more than ten years. The registration period for the renowned prize ends on April 30, 2023. All interested young companies and research institutions are invited to submit their projects.

The PHÖNIX start-up prize is awarded in four categories: female entrepreneurs, spin-offs, start-ups and prototypes. In the Female Entrepreneurs category, “Role Models” are to be established in order to make greater use of the potential of women in high-tech start-ups. The spin-off category honors exploitation spin-offs with their research facility, which have emerged from public universities, technical colleges or cooperation programs, for example. Young companies that address current social challenges with their innovative products, processes or services are awarded in the Start-up category. In the Prototypes category, feasibility studies of innovations that accelerate the exploitation for society and the economy are awarded.

The winners are selected by an international jury of experts. The PHÖNIX start-up prize is organized by Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) in cooperation with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and the Industrial Association (IV) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research.

The following criteria apply for participation in the competition: The company must be founded after January 1, 2017 (entry in the company register or issue of a trade license) and the company headquarters must be in Austria.

The Austrian start-up award PHÖNIX offers an excellent opportunity to present innovative projects and start-ups to a wide audience and thus to make valuable contacts. The award ceremony for the award winners will take place on October 3rd, 2023 in the premises of the Federation of Industry.
