At least 34 people were killed in an asylum shooting in Thailand, police said.
Authorities indicated that 23 children were among the victims of the attack carried out by a former policeman in the province of Non-Boas Lampo.
Police said the assailant shot and stabbed a number of children and adults before fleeing, heading to his home, killing his family and then committing suicide.
He added that he was last seen driving a four-door white license plate truck in Bangkok and that it was named Banya Kamrap.
The reason for the attack is not yet clear. But reports indicated that the perpetrator was recently fired from his job.
And mass shootings in Thailand are rare. In 2020, a soldier killed 21 people and injured dozens more in Nakhon Ratchasima.
