Disease that is not exclusive to women, but a public health issue that involves the man and his family.

Other preventive actions, external, are the annual clinical check-up, from the age of 25, and the mammogram from the age of 40 to 69, to be applied every two years.
The directive stressed that breast cancer does not arise from a single element, but is related to various factors that condition the development of the disease.
Among these, the IMSS specialist pointed out, age, a hereditary history of the disease in the first line; previous diseases or tumors of any kind in that gland; not having done a self-exam or mammogram; prolonged menstrual life and use of hormone replacement therapy in menopausal women, among others.
Del Carmen Granados indicated that a diet rich in carbohydrates and low in fiber also influences; diet rich in animal fats and fatty acids, which condition overweight and obesity, which represent another risk factor mainly in postmenopause, as well as sedentary lifestyle, high alcohol consumption and smoking.
However, he said that the person who is not informed, lacks elements to make an early detection, although there are other myths that also prevent the decision of the woman to take the test.
He said that as an example of these myths are the use of tight clothing, scares and blows; the fear of having a mammogram to avoid a possible health problem; fear that it will hurt a lot, feeling in good health, not having time and lack of partner support.
He stressed that breast cancer is not an exclusive problem for women, but a public health issue that involves men, the family and society as a whole.
