Thursday, December 17, in the early evening, the Alsatian gendarmes checked a car registered in Nantes. Yep, the occupants of the car were a long way from home and that’s what sparked blue men’s ears.
When the vehicle was checked, the police discovered (quite easily) 250 firecrackers of all kinds. Unfortunately for buyers, the sale and use of fireworks is prohibited until early next year, according to a prefectural decree.
Motorists have admitted their wrongs and confessed to having traveled to Strasbourg to take advantage of the advantageous prices offered by the seller. Only, their plan went up in smoke (and that’s the only thing that will go up in smoke), because all the merchandise was seized by the military.
For their part, the arrested were able to take the road to their homes, but legal proceedings will be implemented against them.
