Arnautoglou: 5 months of deep winter in Scandinavia, Greece is boiling – 2024-02-18 00:12:50

It may be that in Greece the clothes we wear do not remind much of winter but early autumn, but in Scandinavia they have experienced the cold on their skin for the last five months.

In Sweden, so much snow fell that the army had to intervene to help free motorists in the county of Scania. In Norway the thermometer showed -41.6 degrees in Kautokino and several schools were closed as travel was difficult.

As meteorologist Sakis Arnautoglou says, Scandinavia, from October until now, has been experiencing an extremely icy and rare obsession with large-scale atmospheric flow, without however showing any change in the weather scene in the immediate future.

“Unlike the rest of the planet together and our country that is ‘boiling’ thermally (purple shades), Scandinavia from October until now is experiencing an extremely frigid and rare obsession with large-scale atmospheric flow (blue shades). Almost 5 months of deep winter without seeing any significant change in the immediate weather future” he writes in his post on Facebook citing the relevant maps.
