Apple has classified laptops as “obsolete” MacBook Pro in their first versions with Retina displays, which means that they will no longer be able to receive official ‘hardware’ support.
These computers were introduced in 2012, and are the first to incorporate Retina technology for displays, which has been maintained in all subsequent models, including the latest one. MacBook Pro presented in May.

Now, as recorded in a technical document, Apple includes the first MacBook with screen Retina Launched in mid-2012 on the “Obsolete” product list, which implies that the service of hardware and spare parts for repairs ceases “without exceptions”.
The US company has also updated its list of “old” products, in which it usually adds to the devices between five and seven years after the end of its period of sale, a list that now includes the MacBook Pro with 13 and 15-inch Retina displays launched between late 2012 and early 2014.
The Mac Older “continue to receive official hardware service”, but the company adds that this support will be “subject to inventory availability or the requirements of the legislation” of each country.
