According to current Figures from IDC market researchers the tablet market shrank by 1.5 percent in 2019 compared to the previous year. The iPads dominate the market again recently. Is the clear market leader Apple with a market share of 34.6 percent in deliveries – an increase of five percent compared to the previous year. In second place Samsung with a market share of 15.1 percent. In third place Huawei with 9.8 percent.
Apple was able to deliver 15.2 percent more tablets in 2019 than in the previous year. Samsung and Huawei suffered losses of 7.2 and 3.5 percent, respectively. Except Apple only one manufacturer was able to record a plus, namely Amazon with an increase of 9.9 percent. Especially the Black Friday deals have to do with the good sales of Amazon’s Fire tablets contributed. The Kids Edition also contributed to this.
According to the IDC, a total of 144.1 million tablets were delivered in 2019. In the previous year there were 146.2 million devices.
