A big setback for Ajax in the run-up to the game against Heracles Almelo. Antony had to miss the last group training before the game and will not be there on Sunday afternoon in the Johan Cruijff Arena.
Ajax confirms this through official channels. Antony could be seen on the training field, but only did some individual exercises. The attacker dropped out during the Champions League match against Atalanta with an apparently serious injury, was carried off the field on a stretcher, but the damage was not too bad. In all likelihood, he can resume group training next week.
Antony had already missed the matches with the Olympic team of Brazil. The attacker has played in ten official matches for Ajax this season. In this he scored five goals and was twice important with an assist.
