Antam’s Footsteps Escaped 1.1 Ton Gold Lawsuit Against Crazy Rich Budi Said

PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) Now he can breathe a sigh of relief after escaping the penalty of 1.1 tons of gold compensation to conglomerate Budi Said. The Surabaya High Court (PT) annulled the decision District Court (PN) Surabaya who won one of the property kings in East Java.

The following is the chronology of the Antam Vs case Budi Said:

2018

The case started when Budi Said meet people at a gold shop in Krian, Sidoarjo, East Java. At that time he heard that Antam was giving a discount on the sale of gold bullion.

Budi then went to the Antam Surabaya Building and met with the leaders of Antam Surabaya, Endang Kumoro and Misdianto and Ahmad Purwanto. In addition, Budi became acquainted with marketing named Eksi Anggraini.

Eksi offers a gold price of IDR 530 million per kg. Gold will be received within 12 working days after the money is transferred to PT Antam. Budi believed because the person who explained was a person who claimed to be an Antam employee and transferred it to Antam’s account.

Later, Eksi contacted Budi to tell him that he could help with the gold purchase by asking for a commission of IDR 10 million/kg. Budi agreed and transferred Rp 10.6 billion to Antam’s account.

Budi then made another 73 transfer transactions. The total price paid was IDR 3.9 trillion with the hope of getting 7 tons of gold.

Until this case was rolled out, Budi had only received 5,935 kg of gold. As for the rest, 1,136 kg of gold has not been delivered.

Budi Said reported the leadership of Antam Surabaya to the police.

December 2019

The Surabaya District Court (PN) sentenced the leadership of Antam Surabaya, namely:

1. Defendant I Endang Kumoro was sentenced to 2 (two) years and 6 (six) months in prison. The defendant did not appeal/cassation.

2. Defendant II Misdianto, with imprisonment for 3 (three) years and 6 (six) months. The defendant did not appeal/cassation.

3. Defendant III Ahmad Purwanto, with imprisonment for 1 (one) year and 6 (six) months. The defendant did not appeal/cassation.

4. Eksi Anggraini was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in prison. The decision was upheld at the level of appeal and cassation.
