Another batch of Pfizer vaccines against COVID-19 arrives in the country

The Government received this Friday afternoon the second batch with doses of vaccines against COVID-19 developed by Pfizer and BioNTech.

The information was offered by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, who is also the coordinator of the Government Health Cabinet.

Peña explained that the doses received were 208,260, which will be included in the vaccination plan that began last February.

“With this arrival we continue to vaccinate all ages, including teenagers and pregnant women. Every day we get closer to returning to our normality! ”, The official wrote on her personal Twitter account.

With this new arrival, the country has received 436,410 doses of Pfizer, which represent 5.08% of the 8,582,810 vaccines received.

The Government agreed with Pfizer to purchase 9,999,990 doses at a consideration of 119,999,880 dollars; each dose is priced at $ 12.

The contract provides for the Dominican Republic to make an initial payment of US $ 19,999,980 within 15 days of receiving the invoice from Pfizer.

The remaining part of the price will be invoiced by the pharmaceutical company with each of the shipments of the contracted doses, which must be paid at least five days prior to the estimated date of shipment of the product.
