A car drives into the hospital. A man, not satisfied with the wait in the emergency room, took his car and threw him into the premises of a hospital in Provins (Seine-et-Marne) Thursday afternoon, around 3:15 p.m.
4 slightly injured
Four people in the waiting room at the time were injured but none seriously, said Melun prosecutor Béatrice Angelelli. The most serious injury concerns a 75-year-old woman who suffered a broken leg.
Arrested on the spotthe individual was taken to the Provins police station and an investigation opened for violence with a weapon.
An anti-ram device in front of the emergency room
The suspect’s condition was deemed incompatible with police custody, the prosecution ordered a compulsory hospitalization for psychiatric problems, said the prosecutor.
“As of tonight, we will put in place an anti-ram device in front of the emergency room and the psychiatric unit”, announced the mayor, Olivier Lavenka, just after the incident.
