Hhere are two moments in the life of Ángel Sepúlveda that have to do with America. One was overwhelming, the other still moves him.
In his memory emerges on October 8, 2008, when he met the Coapa facilities for the first time in a match against the inferior Eagles. “I was born in Apatzingán, Michoacán and there was no team, so I had to go to Nueva Italia, 30 kilometers away.”
There he passed the tests to belong to the Mapaches of the Second Division, without knowing that the owner of this team was Wenceslao Álvarez, who had links with the drug trafficking organization La Familia Michoacana and the Zetas cartel. The lump in her throat is still too strong.
I was there from the founding of the Mapaches, until the last day that was at Club América. I remember that I was on the bus passing me some photos with the players of América on my cell phone when the commotion was heard that the police were taking the coaching staff and the owner.”
The director was the exporter Homero Pasallo and he was arrested that day without any guilt when the Deputy Attorney General for Investigation specialized in organized crime (SIEDO) together with the Federal Investigation Agency (AFI) apprehended Wenceslao Álvarez.
I was surprised at what was happening and I was going to get off the bus when, right on the last step, they pointed at my face and told me ‘get on, the fuck’s already killed them.’ They ordered us to lie down in the aisle of the bus. At dawn they took us to the bus station in Observatorio and sent us back to Morelia, at least with the ticket paid because I didn’t have a peso on me. I felt that football was over for me”.

But Sepúlveda dedicated his efforts to continue. He debuted in Morelia, went through Atlante and Toros Neza until he reached Los Gallos where he coincided with the star Ronaldinho Gaucho when he was managing IMAGE GROUP.
Unforgettable for Club Querétaro will be the Sunday afternoon of April 2015 when Ronaldinho scored twice in just eight minutes to seal a historic 4-0 win.
When he arrived at the club his skill was immediately noticed. I remember an occasion when after training, we practiced free throws, the goalkeeper was Gil Alcalá and the one who scored repeated. Ronaldinho scored one, two, three, four and that’s how it went on, he didn’t let us shoot at any of them, it was better to leave by his will”.
But the one that he tells with fervor and that he promises to tell his grandchildren about, was when Ronaldinho thanked him on a playing field.
When he scores his second goal against America and runs to the corner kick to celebrate, he came with him and says ‘thank you, Sepu, thank you’, you don’t know the shudder I felt. When he was going back to midfield I thought, he’s done! I got something wonderful.”
The Azteca Stadium, mostly with Americanists, bid farewell to Ronaldinho with applause, who confessed to his teammates that this had only happened to him at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, “having been part of that success in his life fills me with emotion.”
