An error in diagnosing the former Argentina coach with the Corona virus

Jorge Billardo, brother of Carlos Billardo, coach of the Argentine national team that won the 1986 World Cup soccer football team, revealed that the diagnosis of his brother’s infection with the new Corona virus this weekend had been mistaken.

Jorge wrote on his Twitter account: “My brother is suffering from nothing, the laboratory (who conducted the examination) made a mistake.”

Carlos Bellardo was hospitalized on Saturday after a positive test for the “Covid-19” virus.

According to press reports, 82-year-old Carlos Bellardo, who suffers from a brain disorder, lives in a nursing home in Almagro, on the outskirts of the capital, Buenos Aires, where ten other people were also infected with the “Covid-19” virus, but no symptoms were seen by the coach.

Billardo was transferred to intensive care in July 2019 after suffering from Hakim-Adams Syndrome. Since his discharge from the hospital, he has lived in a nursing home in the Almagro district of the capital.

Billardo supervised the Argentine national team between 1982 and 1990, won the World Cup title with legend Diego Maradona, and then led his country to the final in the 1990 World Cup when he lost to West Germany with a penalty kick in the final.
