An activist from a protest on Bankova Street demands a refutation and an apology from Gerashchenko

This is about edited video with participants of the action under the Office of the President, which Gerashchenko published the day before. He called the defendants in the recording “a bunch of provocateurs” who “set fire to doors, beat windows, and called for hooliganism.” Gerashchenko assured that the participants in these events “have been identified and will be responsible for their actions.” Some of the participants were identified by their clothes.

The activist himself denies his involvement in any illegal actions during the action.

Ratushny also points out that the video released by Gerashchenko contains his personal data (full name, occupation) and images that are not related to the action, permission for the use of which he neither the Ministry of Internal Affairs nor personally Gerashchenko gave.

The activist notes that this video humiliates his honor and dignity, negatively affects his business reputation, “and is also an obvious violation of the presumption of innocence.”

Ratushny draws attention to the fact that the “unidentified masked person” in the video does not commit any illegal actions.

“However, the video contains my personal data and a photograph, which, in the general context of the video and accompanying inscriptions, create an impression on a third-party viewer of my involvement in illegal actions and the existence of grounds for criminal prosecution. And this is not true. Therefore, I believe that this video contains unreliable and negative information about me, which offends my honor and dignity and harms my business reputation. I demand that this information be removed, refuted and apologized, “the activist said.

In case of ignoring their demands, Ratushny plans to go to court and demand compensation for moral damage.



Town hall stated also that the persecution of him for participating in the action under the Office of the President is revenge for his activities to protect Protasovy Yar from illegal development. According to the activist, the suspicion was “pushed through” by the deputy head of the OP, Andrei Smirnov.
