“All care professions are recruiting”

The health crisis has only accentuated the phenomenon, the aid and personal care sector is experiencing increasing recruitment difficulties despite real job opportunities. More than 130 positions are, for example, to be filled in the Thionville-Hayange sector alone.

The problem is national but all the more marked in the north of the Moselle, “because of the attractiveness of Luxembourg”, recognizes Ralph Guebert, Pôle Emploi adviser in Hayange. The observation is made of a lack of attractiveness for little recognized professions. “The image is often distorted when the field of care is vast,” insist the employment counselors.

“Nursing homes, health establishments but also home care and help services, childcare facilities, medico-educational institutes or service and assistance establishments through work (Esat ) need qualified people, ”explains Véronique Tinel.

An interest in humans

“This health sector can also be open to subsidized contracts,” notes Ralph Guebert. Whether it is home help, service agent, care assistant or employee in early childhood structures … The employment counselors emphasize the multiple possibilities of access to professional discovery workshops or qualifying training courses.

“We can systematically offer to discover the profession in immersion for several days, which really helps to validate a project […] The idea is to enter the profession with support which can also be an opportunity for employers. “

The challenge is also to attract a new audience to these professions, young people, employees from other sectors, looking for retraining, etc. “The common thread is to have an interest in people,” says Véronique Tinel.

Whether or not the interested parties are registered as job seekers, Pôle emploi can also play an information and guidance role.
