President Iván Duque, in dialogue with Blu Radio, made a vehement defense of the former president on Monday morning Álvaro Uribe, regarding the process that the Supreme Court of Justice is following for alleged witness tampering.

“I have had the opportunity in life to meet, to try, to build a friendship with Álvaro Uribe Vélez and I can say that he is a person to whom the word honorable marries him in all the behaviors of his life“, said.
He added that the natural head of his party was a president who found the country in a very difficult situation in terms of public order, but that in those eight years that he ruled he was able to regain a path of security and trust “that is incontrovertible in the face of evidence”.

The President assured that he could not pronounce on what the courts have to do, “but what I can say” is that Álvaro Uribe Vélez is a person who throughout his life has shown Colombia patriotism and dedication.
