Algeria’s tears failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup at the last second

Jakarta

In just minutes Aljazair experience what it’s like to be slammed from above the clouds to the earth. Ticket 2022 World Cup lost the last second.

Algeria have a dramatic match at home Cameroon in the third round 2022 World Cup Qualification African zone, Wednesday (30/3/2022) early morning WIB. Algeria come into the game with a 1-0 lead from the first leg at home to Cameroon.

Entertaining Cameroon at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium, Blida, Algeria were conceded by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the 22nd minute. The score lasted until normal time ran out so the match continued to extra time because the aggregate was equally strong at 1-1.

The drama started when Algeria broke the deadlock in the 118th minute. Ahmed Touba led them to equalize and are just one step away from qualifying for Qatar.

Board injury time picked up, four minutes of added time was awarded, which turned out to be an irony for the hosts. Right when the game entered the fourth minute injury timeKarl Toko Ekambi grabbed a cross from a throw-in on the right.

Goal. Cameroon is back in the lead and that means winning on away goals by 2-2 on aggregate. They also feasted while the members of the Algerian team bowed languidly, then burst into tears when the final whistle sounded.

Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi was seen sitting on the sidelines and covering his face, not believing what his team was going through. Algeria along with Egypt, Nigeria, Congo, and Mali certainly failed to qualify last night.

The five countries that will represent Africa at the 2022 World Cup Qatar are Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and Cameroon.
