Algeria Post caps withdrawals

The General Directorate of Algeria Post has ordered the directors of the various post offices at the national level to limit withdrawals to one hundred thousand Algerian dinars. The purpose of this measure is to deal with the liquidity crisis that the Algerian company has been experiencing for many weeks.

Thus, Algerians can no longer withdraw sums exceeding ten million centimes. This is what Algeria Post said in a press release indicating that it had decided to ” cap, exceptionally and temporarily, cash withdrawal operations at counters up to one hundred thousand dinars (100,000 dinars) per customer and per day ”.

According to the Algerian company, this measure aims to optimize “the flow of cash withdrawals in post offices during this exceptional health period (Covid-19)” and to “satisfy all customers of Algeria Post, particularly civil servants, employees and retirees ”.

Algeria Post offers solutions to its customers

Otherwise, Algeria Poste has stressed to its customers who want to dispose of their assets in order to meet expenses exceeding ten million cents that they can always resort to other cashless means of payment. These are:

  • Certified check drawn up by the head of the Postal Establishment and given to the customer.
  • Transfer from one CCP account to another CCP account by standardized postal check.
  • Transfer from one CCP account to another CCP account by the EDHAHABIA card.

Algeria post finally recalls that its customers are “able to release postal checks for the benefit of third parties, either for the benefit of beneficiaries holding CCP accounts, or for the benefit of beneficiaries holding bank accounts”.
