Alfonso Hernandez Quereda elected as new dean of College of Social Graduates in Murcia

After the elections held at the College of Social Graduates of the Region of Murcia (CGS), Alfonso Hernandez Quereda has won the electoral consultation and has been proclaimed dean of the institution that represents experts in Labor Law and labor relations.

The new dean of the college has expressed his “satisfaction for starting a new professional and personal challenge by leading the College of those who have the greatest technical knowledge on Social Security legislation and who process the most contracts in companies and institutions in the Region of Murcia”.

The elections held among the social graduates have given victory to Hernández Quereda, who takes over from José Ruiz. Both merged into a hug when learning the electoral result. In the elections for renewal of positions, the following have also been elected as Acting Members: Pedro Castro, Francisco Javier Jiménez, Ramón Jódar and María José Pelegrín. José Francisco Rodríguez has been elected as a non-practicing member.

According to Alfonso Hernandez Quereda, its objective is to deepen the social recognition and by the institutions of the work of more than a thousand social graduates who work in the Autonomous Community of Murcia. “During the pandemic we were the group of labor management experts who processed 80% of the regional ERTES and we made it easier for workers to collect their benefits in the shortest possible time.”

Pioneers in Spain

The College of the Region of Murcia was created on November 23, 1972 with a group of highly qualified professionals in law and labor relations. Diego Guirao Mengual was the first president of the public law corporation from 1972 to 1977. Later presidents have been: José Cerdán Vives (1977-81), Pedro García Pujante (1981-85), José Antonio Tomás García (1985-89) , Pedro García Pujante (1989-91) and José Ruiz (1991-2023), and now Alfonso Hernández Quereda.

The Official College of Social Graduates of the Region of Murcia has celebrated the 50th anniversary of its creation in 2022, sponsored by King Felipe VI. The College of the Region of Murcia was one of the first in all of Spain. Subsequently, the rest of the provinces, regions, and, later, autonomies, followed the trail of these pioneers.
