Alexander Sørloth has completed his move from RB Leipzig to Villarreal, with the Spanish club officially announcing the arrival of the 27-year-old Norwegian on Tuesday evening.
The former FC Groningen striker spent the past two seasons on loan at Real Sociedad from the German Bundesliga club. His performances caught the attention of Villarreal’s decision-makers, leading to the decision to sign Sørloth from Leipzig. Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) and Pau Torres (Aston Villa) have also left the Spanish club, with both players being sold to Premier League clubs for a combined fee of over 70 million euros.
This will be Sørloth’s eighth adventure since leaving Norway. He has previously played for FC Groningen, FC Midtjylland, Crystal Palace, AA Gent, Trabzonspor, RB Leipzig, and Real Sociedad. During his two seasons at Real Sociedad, he scored 16 goals in 67 official matches.
