Due to a corona outbreak, there was an occupancy freeze at the Niebüll and Husum locations. Now new patients are being admitted to the Nordfriesland Clinic.
The Klinikum Nordfriesland is accepting patients again after the occupancy freeze imposed in mid-January. According to the district, the entire hospital at the Niebüll site is back in operation today. Initially, only the emergency room and maternity ward start in Husum, plus the medical care centers and specialist practices in both locations. In what is now the third series of tests for all employees, this time in Niebüll there was not a single positive test result. And only three in Husum. The clinic management suspects the cause to be in the private sector.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 200 employees and patients had been infected in both houses. Emergencies had to take two weeks long to be driven to Flensburg and Heide. Niebüll had discharged or relocated all patients. In Husum, 25 beds were still occupied on Sunday – 16 of them Covid cases. There the old and new patients are strictly separated from each other. This also applies to the staff, who can now be tested daily in critical areas. In addition, only one patient comes to each room. The clinic management still cannot explain how the virus was able to spread uncontrollably before.
