After eighteen years of int farewell to Xbox Live

The Origo wrote to try to make the trademarks used more understandable by Microsoft.

After eighteen years, Microsoft will change the name of the fictional Internet service for Xbox game consoles, and in the near future the product will be called Xbox network instead of Xbox Live. In the Hungarian language user interface, the new name will probably be translated as Xbox network.

According to the article, it’s a simple re-labeling, meaning nothing really changes, Xbox beta testers are already seeing the new name in their console menus. According to information provided to The Verge, the change is intended to make it easier to differentiate between the online service that comes with the Xbox and the Xbox Live Gold monthly subscription, which includes multiplayer gaming, among other things.

With the amendment, Sony will follow in the footsteps of Microsoft, as its rival has always made a clear distinction between the PlayStation Network web service and the PlayStation Plus monthly subscription.
