At SV Lohhof we are looking forward to returning to football. Florian Tauser, coach of the third team, sends his boys to run in the run-up to the restart.
– Jog twice a week, four kilometers each time: This is the workload that coach Florian Tauser prescribed to his footballers from SV Lohhof III at the end of February. From now on, the running route will be extended by one kilometer every seven days, says the coach. “So that the players have a certain basic level of fitness at the end of March. Because many have done little or nothing in the past few weeks. “
Trainer Florian Tauser: “For us it is of secondary importance whether the season ends”
The background to the running units is the hope that amateur football will soon be able to get back on the pitch after the long Corona break. The Lohhof coach is not worried that the A-Class team’s squad will be noticeably thinner than last year. “All the boys wrote that they were hot for football. And many have asked when it will finally start again. ”Before that, of course, there had been“ quite a long radio silence ”in the team’s Whatsapp group since the congratulatory messages on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, reports Tauser. Maintaining solidarity in the team is “difficult”, he admits, “when you are not allowed to see each other”.
With a view to the current season, the SVL trainer is skeptical that it can still be finished by the summer. “If we can get started in April, we will still need two to four weeks of preparation. And if a team has a corona case during the season and they have to sit out for two weeks, then that can almost no longer work. ”For Lohhofer, however, a break in the season would not be tragic. After all, the newcomer is currently in seventh place in the table in A-Class 1 – with four points ahead of the relegation places. “For us it is of secondary importance whether the season is over,” says Tauser. “The main thing is that we can finally play football again.”
