With departures to French football since the middle of last season, Lucas Perri and Adryelson will not even re-introduce themselves to the Botafogo on January 7th, the date on which the squad will return to training for the 2024 season.

The sale of the duo to Lyon, from France, had a hammer down and the two no longer play for the Rio club. The total operation – counting all possible values of future performance bonuses – would reach around 20 million (R$ 107 million, at current prices) for the two players.
A large part of the negotiation of figures and market value was handled by John Textor, owner of both Botafogo and Lyon. The deal has been going on for three months and the delay in concluding was to avoid the same conflict as the “Jeffinho case”, when the North American was criticized for the way he communicated the striker’s sale to the French team.
Lucas Perri has already started the moving process and handed over the house where he lived in Rio de Janeiro. Adryelson spends his holidays in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The reunion of the Lyon squad is scheduled for December 31st.
The duo stood out at the Rio club in 2023. Perri and Adryelson were called up to the Brazilian team in 2023.
