When it turns out that the former teacher is in the room, Adele is completely surprised. “I didn’t know you were coming,” she says. The two fall into each other’s arms and Adele can’t hold back her tears. “I’m so proud of you,” McDonald says. “Thank you for remembering me.”
“You really changed my life,” Adele said. And then she asks her mother who is also in the hall: “Mom, mom, can you believe this?”
“I still have all my books, you know, from when you were my teacher.”
