ACV refuses to sign collective labor agreement on wage margin of 0.4 percent | Inland

The Christian trade union ACV refuses to sign a collective labor agreement around a wage margin of 0.4 percent. This is what spokesman David Vanbellinghen says after a meeting of the board of the trade union about the government’s proposal to broker wages. ACV does want to sit around the table on other topics, such as the minimum wage, end of career and mobility.

“The board was quite clear: ACV will not sign a collective labor agreement around a wage margin of 0.4 percent,” said Vanbellinghen. That means that there will be no interprofessional agreement (IPA), he says.

ACV complains that the 0.4 percent is the result of the wage standard law. “That way you no longer have any social consultation, but you do have some arithmetic methodologies imposed by law and a bit of tampering, and then that will be all right. That is not serious social consultation,” says Vanbellinghen.

What the union is willing to do is – as stated in the government’s proposal – to talk to employers about other issues, such as minimum wages, end of career, mobility, … “These are things we want to go for, and the employers will undoubtedly also have a list “, it sounds.

The government reached an agreement on wages last week. That file had ended up in their lap, after the unions and employers failed to agree. The government is sticking to the 0.4 percent wage margin on top of the index. Sectors or companies that did well during the corona crisis can award a corona premium of up to 500 euros net. Both ACV and ABVV have already rejected the proposal.
