There are 3 things you can create Thomas Tuchel became the best manager in England this season, through the breakthrough he has done in his relatively short time at Chelsea.
At least that is the opinion of Gary Neville, a former England national team player who was once Manchester United’s mainstay right-back and is now the pundit of Sky Sports.
Neville, with Jamie Carragher, discussed the best figures in the 2020/2021 Premier League according to their respective versions in the Monday Night Football (MNF) event. One of them is regarding the position of manager.
“If Tuchel “win the Champions League and the FA Cup, and Chelsea finish in the top four, so (the best manager) is him,” said Neville as reported Sky Sports.
“If three or four months ago you said that Chelsea could win the FA Cup and Champions League, and finish in the top four, I would say ‘no way’. Having a chance to win the Champions League is massive,” said Neville who also made Pep. Manchester City’s Guardiola as a strong candidate for best manager.
Thomas Tuchel was officially appointed by Chelsea as manager in January 2021, to replace Frank Lampard. Before Tuchel arrived, the Blues were ninth in the Premier League table.
Chelsea’s first game in the Tuchel era ended 0-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers. But since then the Blue has gone through a positive period in the Premier League, including one defeat, to now occupy third place in the standings.
Other than that, Thomas Tuchel now has also succeeded in taking Chelsea to the Champions League final this season to face fellow English teams, Manchester City. Tuchel’s Chelsea chances mark this season with a trophy also present at the FA Cup. There is Leicester City who will be faced in the final.
