Actress Lisa Banes suffered an accident in New York, her condition is critical

The victim in a hit-and-run accident on Friday afternoon in Manhattan has been identified as Lisa Banes, a film and television actress with credits in Gone Girl, Once Upon a Time, The King of Queens and others.

A report from Deadline says that as of Saturday afternoon, Banes in critical condition in the intensive care unit was joined at Mount Sinai Morningside with a traumatic brain injury.

The report suggests that the actor had the right of way and was walking through the crosswalk at West 64th and Amsterdam Avenue when a scooter ran a red light and struck her.

The scooter driver later fled the scene and is currently being searched by police. Police are encouraging anyone with information about the accident or potential witnesses to call New York Police Department Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 65-year-old pedestrian lying on the road with a severe head injury. EMS responded to the location and transported the woman assisted to Mount Sinai Saint Luke Hospital, where she remains in critical condition “the New York Police Department said in a separate statement from Variety.

The trade adds that a representative for the actress confirmed that it was Banes who was hit, although no additional information was available about his injuries.

Although Banes has appeared in many films, most of his work comes from television, where he has had several recurring roles over the years. These include stints at Legacy, Girls Club, The King of Queens, Royal Pains, and Nashville.
