Actress, broadcaster and singer Nelly Prince, prestigious benchmark of culture and local media, with an uninterrupted and extensive artistic career, passed away today at 94.

Prince, who was born as Nélida Couto on July 27, 1926, died as a result of health complications that began with a pelvic fracture, in the company of his daughter, actress Cristina Banegas, his granddaughter, actress Valentina Fernández de Rosa, relatives and loved ones, reported relatives.

His first job was at the age of 6, on Radio Belgrano in the program “La Pandilla Marilyn”. Two years later he made his debut in radio drama and at the age of 10, he made his first theatrical work in “Wuthering Heights”.

In 1940, he gained great popularity for his participation in “Los Pérez García” on Radio El Mundo. He was part of the radio theater companies of Eva Duarte, Blanca del Prado, Nené Cascallar and Alberto Migré.

She was one of the pioneers of Argentine television, with the cycle “Telesolfas musicals”. Among the TV programs in which he participated are “A window to the world”, “Casino”, “Show Standard Electric”, “Universal theater series”, “Tato always on Sunday”, “Men in white”, “Alta comedy “,” The Nélida Lobato show “.

Together with Guillermo Brizuela Méndez he worked in the cycles “Nelly y el Negro”, “We are in the air” and “There comes the circus”, in which he conquered the public with his character of the Clown Rabanito.

His theatrical work includes titles such as “Posthumous”, “The future presidency”, “Boeing Boeing”, “The path of Alfredo Alcón”, “As we are”, “Don Gil de las Calzas Verdes”, “As with anger and junando “,” Discepoliana “,” Marriage by proxy “,” The father of the bride “,” Memero Mori “, among many other works.

With his daughter Cristina Banegas, he presented shows such as “Aire familiar” and music and poetry shows. During the pandemic, he participated in the “Read at home” project.

As a singer, she made her debut with Alberto Castillo and Olinda Bozán in the show “I have a tango in the soul” and later she toured various countries of the world with her musical shows.

In 2010, the Argentine Association of Actors and the National Senate presented him with the Podestá Award for Honorable Career.
