Activist Carol Leigh is dead Carol Leigh is dead

Carol Leigh, the San Francisco activist who first coined the term “sex work,” has died. She died at the age of 71 while being treated for cancer. Carol Lane was the first to use the term “sex work” and worked for decades for prostitutes.

Carol’s work was dedicated to sex workers at a time when they were isolated and faced difficulties in society. Carroll first used the term prostitute in 1978 while she was attending an “Anti-Ponography Feminist Conference”. As a result, the term sex worker has started to be widely used in today’s society.

‘Carroll defined sex work as a professional problem. Carol was assigned to work for them with the attitude that it was neither a crime nor a sin. Millions of people in every country have worked to support their families. But society has always portrayed those workers as great criminals. San Francisco executor Kate Marquis mourned Carol’s death.

Carol has worked to boldly use the term prostitute in all positions of feminism and sexuality and to place them in places where they have historically been rejected.” “SWARM” mourned Carol’s death. SWARM, Sex Worker Advocacy and Resistance Movement, is an organization for sex workers founded in the UK in 2009.
