In the Family Medicine Unit (UMF) number 38 of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) of this city, actions aimed at locating and detecting this type of cancer are promoted and carried out throughout the year.
Dr. Óscar Castro Guevara pointed out that the medical unit has a mammography equipment, so it is possible to carry out this study on eligible women over 40 years of age.
He called attention to the rights holders to go to the UMF number 38 and request in the Prevenimss module open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., that they undergo a mammogram and, in this way, they can know their state of health of your breasts.
When a woman visits the Prevenimss module, she receives comprehensive care since tests such as pap smears, diabetes screening tests, and others are performed.
If a patient is suspected of having cancer, she is referred to clinic number 31 of the IMSS in Mexicali, where she is treated in the gynecology-oncology area for specific medical studies that help confirm or rule out the diagnosis.

Among the risk factors, she mentioned not having conceived children or having her first pregnancy after the age of 30; consume alcohol and/or tobacco; absence of breastfeeding, obesity before and after menopause, long-term use of contraceptives, and direct family history (grandmother, mother and sisters) with breast cancer.
