Only three people know where Nathaly Salazar is. Two of them are those convicted of his disappearance and death: Luzgardo Pillco and Jainor Huillca. The third person is Herbet Américo Quispe, Jainor’s lawyer. Or at least that’s what he wanted the family to see. Far from helping, he tried to take financial advantage of it. The young Valencian disappeared in Peru, while traveling backpacking on January 2, 2008. Four years have passed and there is nothing that leads to her. Those who know, keep quiet. They were excited to say it, but they put a price: 10,000 US dollars.
There were no options, take it or leave it. The lawyer extorted, after citing them, the parents of the missing girl. They recorded it. They reported it. It has taken two years to investigate him, but today they receive the news, Herbert Américo, lawyer of one of his daughter’s murderers, has been formally accused of extortion, the Peruvian prosecutor’s office indicates that he has been investigated.

The two convicted youths told the police and the judge that Nathaly had an accident that day on a zip line that crossed the jungle, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. They assure that the brakes of the attraction failed and the girl died. Both were convicted of manslaughter (reckless): Luzgardo Pillco, 21, the instructor, and Jainor Huillca, his friend and taxi driver who recommended the activity and was with her on the zip line. They confessed that, after the incident, they disposed of the girl’s body “out of fear” .
“What is written in the process is not true. Jainor and Luzgardo have the location of their daughter”, the lawyer told Alexandra and Manuel, Nathaly’s parents, who recorded the conversation and later provided the recording to the court. The lawyer summoned them to talk, got them into his car and, inside, next to a park in Cuzco, made them the offer.
“The topic I wanted to talk to you about is strictly between us,” anticipated the lawyer. “I’ve talked to the guys, and there’s a truth that’s not on paper,” he began.

The document narrates the extortion verbatim. “Yesterday I decided to talk to them (with Luzgardo and Jainor), I don’t know, by chance, we have met or it is fate, and I told them that A bad arrangement is better than a good judgment. They are a bit closed, but my sponsor is already a bit more open (Jainor). I told them ‘the gentlemen will continue, the trial will end, but they will continue looking for the body, they will never live in peace…”. After the introduction, the already accused, asked: “must be paid financially to provide information on the location of the body”.
If they paid, they would know “internally” Nathaly’s location. The figure, without reduction, “ten thousand American euros. That would be enough guarantee to get your daughter’s information.”.
The guidelines were clear. it had to be deposited, by means of a transfer, in the lawyer’s own bank account. She would camouflage it with a receipt simulating her advice in the case in favor of Nathaly’s parents. As stated in the letter from the Peruvian Prosecutor’s Office, “after the economic income, the lawyer would call them to tell them where the body was.”
“This is great news for us, we are winning battle by battle,” says Alexandra, Nathaly’s mother. “The war has not been won, but we are winning the battles, with the support of the consuls of Spain and Ecuador, of the people,” she says. “It is very important, one more step to the truth, to know what happened to my daughter, what they did with her, where she is.”
Encontrar a Nathaly
The formal accusation gives impetus and strength to the family that, for four years, has been fighting tirelessly to find their daughter. “It supposes a truth and the hope of knowing where my girl is. To be able to reach her. If she is alive, we hug her, meet her again. And, if she is dead, give her a Christian burial and have a little peace in our hearts. and in thought, because uncertainty is killing you day by day”.
Luzgardo and Jainor were arrested ten days after the disappearance of the young. They were sentenced to eleven years in prison for manslaughter (reckless), concealment, failure to report and theft. Some time later, for being “disproportionate”, their sentence was reduced to seven years and six months. The judge asked them to say where the body was. They didn’t.
According to the summary of the case, which CASE OPEN has accessed, they assure that That morning Nathaly met Jainor, who works as a taxi driver, as she left her hotel. He guided her on a three-hour tour of different cities and then they went to practice canopy (zip line through the jungle) at the company where Luzgardo, a friend of Jainor, worked as an instructor. Although the one who taught, without training, Nathaly during the tour was the taxi driver.
The brakes failed, there was an accident, and according to his version, realizing that Nathaly was dead, he called the real instructor, they removed her harness and lowered her. They put his body in the trunk of the car and took him to the Vilcanota River, where they dumped him.
The police and the family mistrusted the version of the accident from the beginning. The Peruvian, also the Spanish. The UDEV of the National Police was incorporated. Two Spanish agents traveled to Peru. Finding Nathaly becomes essential to clarify whether the injuries presented by the body correspond to the story of the condemned. After four years of uncertainty, the young woman’s parents once again hope to find out what happened to their daughter. They trust that everything will lead to Nathaly.
