The fire brigade found a small drug plantation in an apartment building in Hamburg-Horn on Thursday evening – by chance. Actually, the emergency services were on site because of an accident.
The fire brigade had been called to Rennbahnstrasse in the early evening. Three men drove a rental truck into a gate passage, which is only designed for cars. Apparently the men noticed that too late. When reversing, they got stuck with the 7.5-ton truck on the house facade and tore off large parts of it. The vehicle got stuck in the driveway. The men were unharmed.
Drugs and supplies secured
Structural engineers then checked whether the house could still be lived in despite the damage. When the firefighters examined the apartments in the six-story house, they noticed an unusual smell. They found a marijuana plantation in one of the apartments. Among other things, police officers seized several harvested plants, lamps, a ventilation system – and apparently also a machete. The police have now started the investigation.
