In Zwickau, there was an accident involving a car on Monday evening when a 21-year-old lost control of his car in the direction of the city tunnel.

A 21-year-old German was traveling with two other occupants on the B93 (Uhdestraße) in the direction of the city tunnel when he lost control of his Opel Corsa in a curve.
He crashed into a street lamp and then threw himself into the oncoming lane. At the time of the accident, there was no other car in the area, so there was no further collision.
All three occupants were uninjured. When investigating the accident, officers noticed the smell of alcohol. The preliminary test showed a value of 0.96 per thousand.

The driver also did not have a driver’s license. Criminal proceedings are now being instituted against him for endangering road traffic and driving without a license.

The street lamp was no longer safe after the accident, which is why a city lighting employee was called in to secure it. The police estimate the total damage at around 10,000 euros.
