It was communicated internally in NRK on Friday. Later that day, the channel confirmed on their websites that Aamodt resigns after 12 years in the channel.

Alpine expert Marius Arnesen also goes from NRK to NENT.

– They are two brilliant communicators and professionals who have contributed with knowledge, good humor and lots of energy in commentary, analysis and storytelling, says Torbjørn Sarre-Jensen, editor in chief of NRK sport.

– It is a pity that they now choose to end with us.

NENT will take over large parts of the TV rights to winter sports from the autumn.

Kristian Oma, Norwegian sports manager at NENT, does not want to comment on the information and refers to a press conference about NENT’s winter investment at 13.00.

Kjetil André Aamodt has not responded to VG’s inquiries.

Aamodt has worked as an alpine expert since he retired in 2007. He has mostly been on NRK’s screens since then, but he has also periodically been associated with Discovery and their Olympic broadcasts.

NENT, which is the parent company of channels such as TV3, TV6, TV4 and Viaplay, has in recent years secured a number of exclusive sports rights.

In 2019, it became known that the media house, among other things takes over NRK’s winter sports rights such as the World Cup in alpine, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, combined, snowboarding, freestyle and freeskiing. They have also secured themselves Hockey-VM.

Last year it also became known that the TV group hijacked Premier League rights from TV 2 after the 2021/22 season
