A trawler with dozens of sailors on board caught fire in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk

VLADIVOSTOK, Jan 21 – RIA News. Enigma Astralis fishing trawler caught fire in Sea of ​​Okhotsk near Magadan, a representative of the marine rescue coordination center of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky told RIA Novosti.

On board were 47 people. According to the agency’s interlocutor, another fishing vessel approached the trawler, the entire crew of Enigma Astralis was evacuated.

Information about the fire of RIA Novosti was confirmed in the “Far Eastern Fishing Company”, which owns the trawler.

None of the crew were injured; the vessel is reconnaissance of the source, which will be put out if possible.

A check on the fact of a fire on the trawler was launched by the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the site Marinetraffic, the vessel Enigma Astralis with a displacement of three thousand tons was built in 2002 and assigned to the port of Vladivostok.
